Treat Dreams – Where Ice Cream Dreams Are… Overhyped?

Rating: 7/10 for effort, 3/10 for not curing my existential crisis

The Experience:
Walking into Treat Dreams is like stepping into a Pinterest board come to life—cute decor, Instagram-worthy cones, and a menu that reads like a poet’s love letter to ice cream. But let’s be real: Is it the best ice cream ever? Depends on how much sugar you’ve had today.

The flavors are creative, sure. “Better Than Yo’ Mama’s Banana Pudding”? Bold claim. “Motor City Mocha”? Sounds like a caffeine addiction waiting to happen. But are they life-changing? Meh. The scoops are generous, but so is my regret after eating two in one sitting.

The Pros:

  • Creative Flavors: I’ll give them points for originality. “Detroit Diesel” is basically coffee and chocolate in a cone—groundbreaking.

  • Aesthetic Vibes: The shop is cute, if you’re into that whole “quirky Detroit pride” thing.

  • Generous Portions: The scoops are big, but so is my waistline after visiting.

The Cons:

  • Overhyped: Is it the best ice cream ever? Not quite. Is it better than the stuff in my freezer? Debatable.

  • Decision Fatigue: With so many flavors, choosing one is like picking a favorite Kardashian—exhausting and ultimately pointless.

  • Lines: The place gets busy, which is great if you enjoy standing around awkwardly while pretending to check your phone.

Pro Tips:

  1. Go Early: The best flavors sell out fast, but let’s be honest—you’re probably here for the ’Gram anyway.

  2. Try the Cones: The homemade waffle cones are decent, but they’re not going to change your life.

  3. Share (or Don’t): Sharing is optional, but so is dignity. Keep the whole pint to yourself—you’ve earned it.

  4. Wear Stretchy Pants: You’ll need the extra room. Trust me.

Final Thoughts:
Treat Dreams is fine. It’s cute, it’s creative, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. But is it the best ice cream ever? Let’s not get carried away. It’s good, but it’s not going to solve your problems or make you forget about your student loans.

Rating: 7/10 stars for effort. Would recommend, but only if you’re not expecting a religious experience.
